LifeLabs Cyberattack notice

December 18, 2019

LifeLabs, whose lab testing services have been used in the past by the BC Generations Project, recently announced it experienced a significant data breach from a cyber-attack. LifeLabs is notifying patients who have used their services and taking steps to protect against future attacks, working with the Office of the Information Privacy Commissioner, RCMP and the B.C. Ministries of Health and Citizens’ Services.

The investigation has revealed no evidence British Columbians’ lab test results were impacted. However, upon request, LifeLabs is providing customers access to free identity-theft insurance and monitoring services. If you require more information about the safety of your data, please contact LifeLabs directly by visiting www.customernotice.lifelabs.com or by calling 1-888-918-0467.
